BMS 3D Artist generalist, Universal Technical Institute, Rochester NY

The 3D Artist Generalist for BrokenMyth Studios (BMS) is responsible for creating and maintaining the aesthetic look and feel of a given project under the direction of the Creative/Managing Director. A proficient understanding of an industry standard 3D application is a must. Broad scope of specialties would include ability to model, texture, shade, light, render, animate, rigging and simulation. Outside of client work, the team develops original IP that utilizes the skills and passions of our organization.

Principle Accountabilities & Deliverables 

  • Create high quality artwork within a fast-paced development cycle without compromising quality with an emphasis on graphic design
  • Responsible for providing strong design solutions and then creating engaging photo-real 3D imagery
  • Use your talents to evaluate and implement quality improvements and art direction across large environments
  • Work with leads to investigate and prototype emerging technologies and improved workflows
  • Maintain a high level of quality while working within design constraints and balancing application performance
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with your team, creative director, and production leads
  • Other projects, tasks and duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities 
Education / Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in 3D Digital Design or related field preferred, or 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong 2D and 3D portfolio required
  • Proficient with Photoshop and Maya or equivalent
  • Intermediate knowledge of lighting, rigging and animating preferred
  • Solid understanding of rendering engines
  • Understanding of CAD based programs
  • Knowledge of a professional editing suite: Final Cut Pro, Premiere, After Effects preferred
