Copywriter, Pegula Sports and Entertainment – Buffalo, NY

Position summary: Pegula Sports and Entertainment is looking for someone who loves to write and is a stickler for grammar to join our team as a Copywriter. The ideal candidate is able to write creatively and seamlessly transition between brand voices for all PSE entities from sports properties (including the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres), to PicSix Creative clients, to hospitality and event venues. The Copywriter will create copy for marketing campaigns, social media posts, traditional advertisements, and more. This position will report to the Manager of Social and Digital Content Strategy. 

Job responsibilities: Create unique copy for a variety of entities within the PSE portfolio, tailored for digital, print, TV, and other media; Work in tandem with departments across organizations to provide copy when developing campaigns, promotional assets, informational marketing material, and more; Craft phrasing to promote ticket sales for sporting and entertainment events; Play a key role in the editing process before content is finalized; Act as the lead in writing external advertisements for PSE entities in both traditional and digital forms; Armed with information from PSE’s in-house analytics team, tailor copy to fit demographics on specific platforms; Create and manage brand-specific style guides for consistency in voice, grammar, and style; Work with social media and marketing teams in continued education on new trends in headline, caption, and call-to-action writing. 

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 2 years of professional writing experience preferred, industry experience preferred; Skills in writing strong, succinct, creative copy; Ability to write for a variety of digital and print media; Experience in proofreading and editing with a deep understanding of grammar; Understanding of the sports and hospitality industries.
