The Society for Technical Communication has just published its 2015 Year in Review.
For many of us, our only exposure to STC is through our local chapter. A Year of Growth: STC 2015 Year in Review provides an in-depth look at what the Society does for all of us. Highlights for 2015 include reduced pricing on Gold membership, availability of an on-demand Education Report Card showing all STC webinars attended, creation of an Application Programming Interface (API) special interest group, an updated Salary Database, and expansion of the Corporate Value Program (CVP) to almost 500 members. The Society also worked to improve their financial position.
Perhaps the biggest thing coming out of STC in 2015 was the reopening of the STC Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC) program. STC launched the certification program several years ago, but it did not prove to be scalable or sustainable. The new three-tiered program is administered through APMG International and the first level certificate is now exam based.
We encourage you to read the 2015 Year in Review and see what the Society does beyond Rochester.
