Plan Document Writer, Aetna, Amherst NY (Buffalo Area)

Under general supervision, drafts, reviews and edits Plan Documents, Summary Plan Descriptions, Plan Amendments and Summaries of Benefits and Coverage (SBC). Provides basic benefit plan consulting services as it relates to document preparation. Organizes material and completes writing assignment according to set standards regarding turnaround times, industry regulation, conciseness, style, and terminology.

Fundamental Components:
– Prepares, reviews and/or edits health benefit documents according to pre-determined standards; ensure benefits are mapped accordingly and drafts all legislatively mandated documents requested by Plan Sponsors.
– Provides support and partners with internal colleagues to effectively resolve case specific benefit/legislative issues and/or customer inquiries.
– Translates complex business and customer specifications into health benefit documents
– Interprets and utilizes available resources in responding to both standard and non-standard benefit drafting requests; when appropriate, prepares language modifications to comply with regulatory requirements
– Maintains complete and accurate documentation of all case communications (i.e., oral and written correspondence) both internal and external.

Experience producing electronic documents using Microsoft Word
Attention to detail
Experience supporting custom products and/or services.

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent experience.
