Job Purpose:

AXA Equitable’s Request for Proposal (RFP) Team is in search of a Proposal Writer to play an integral role in business development and client service efforts through the preparation of proposals in response to RFPs, RFIs and other due diligence requests for AXA Equitable’s 403(b), 457(b), 401(a), and 401(k) variable annuity products. The Proposal Writer will work with multiple internal and external subject matter experts and will contribute to the new business development process through well-written and effective responses.


  • Demonstrating an understanding of AXA Equitable’s employer-sponsored products and services.
  • Working on multiple projects simultaneously to meet strict deadlines.
  • Writing clear, concise, and accurate responses by customizing available answers.
  • Preparing responses that speak to the intended audience.
  • Collaborating with various departments throughout the firm to obtain answers, develop new language, and obtain needed information, including but not limited to legal, operations, customer service, product management, and marketing.
  • Editing final documents to reflect a customized response for the specific opportunity while maintaining consistency and quality of key messages.
  • Coordinating production of final proposals (formatting, technical editing, and reproduction).
  • Printing and assembling final proposals.
  • Utilizing and periodically updating a third party database consisting of answers and information necessary to respond to RFP and RFI questions.
  • Following up on status of submitted proposals.
  • Entering details of all cases into tracking database and continuously making updates to each case as changes occur.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Finra Series 6 license
  • 3-5 years in the financial services industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented with excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks in order to ensure that assignments are completed in a timely manner.
  • Must demonstrate initiative and good judgment, as well as the ability to work well under pressure and within time constraints.
  • Willing to respond quickly and positively to shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a team within in a large global organization.
  • Must demonstrate desire to learn all of the technical aspects of our firm, including the philosophy, support, and investment processes of our products.
  • Must demonstrate ability to interact with contacts in different divisions of the company.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word and possesses the ability to quickly master internal systems and applications.
  • Superior judgment and reasoning skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and accountability.
  • 1-2 years knowledge of AXA Equitable products ideal.
