Introduction to Comedy Improvisation: The Power of “Yes”
Join Megan Mack in her Leadership Day workshop where she presents on ways to use improv to improve your daily interactions!
Leadership Day Presentation Description:
By saying one simple word – “yes” – you can transform a blank stage into scenes filled with characters, objects, and ideas. Saying “yes” can also transform your interactions with coworkers, clients, friends, and family by creating an environment of positivity where there are no mistakes and every idea is a gift. “Yes, and” is the foundation of improvisation – the art of making everything up on the spot. Saying “yes, and” is more difficult than it sounds; from the theater to the boardroom, “no, but” is the common response, and it can create unexpected hurdles in your life. In this workshop, you’ll play theatre games to learn the fundamentals of improv, including agreement, teamwork, and developing a sense of play. Improv is an art form and a tool for life: it can help you become a better listener, public speaker, problem solver, and creative thinker. By the end of this class, you’ll walk away with newly found confidence on stage and in your daily interactions.
