Panel Description:

In this panel discussion, moderator Judith Shenouda will explore the client and customer lifecycle with four entrepreneurs who are experienced in attracting clients for their services or customers for their products. The panelists will share their strategies for capturing clients or customers, retaining them over the long haul, and releasing them when circumstances warrant it. During the Q and A, the panelists will respond to audience questions.

Judith Shenouda’s Biography:

Judith Ellison Shenouda is owner of Shenouda Associates Inc., a business that researches, writes, and edits the many professional publications that streamline processes, launch products, and promote each client’s brand. She has authored and independently published Career Success in 12 Easy Steps: A Journal; A Bisl of This, A Bisl of That: Eating Our Way; and Living Well in Froggy’s World of Plenty: Sweet Talk to Read Aloud.

Nita Beck’s Biography:

Nita Beck is an independent consultant and owner of Nita Beck Communications, a documentation services agency offering information architecture, content development (including API documentation), editorial, and MadCap Flare design, legacy migration, and production services to clients worldwide. Nita is a founding member and manager of the Rochester Flare User Group and manages the Slack community MadCap Flare User Groups. Nita has spoken numerous times at Spectrum and was honored to speak at four of the first five MadWorld Conferences sponsored by MadCap Software. For 18 years, Nita taught technical communication courses at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Sheila Kennedy’s Biography:

Believing everyone has a story to tell, Sheila Kennedy supports others as they write their wisdom, speak their stories, and impact the world with what they have been called to share. A two-time solo author, a co-author of an award-winning anthology and memoir of Retired NYS Supreme Court Justice Joseph D. Valentino, keynote speaker, publisher, and mentor for self-published authors, Sheila opens the doors of opportunity for authors and speakers to be seen, heard, and hired. Aside from her daughter, her greatest joy in life is connecting others with the resources and audience they need to succeed.

Gretchen Stahlman’s Biography:

Gretchen Stahlman started The Write Angle, Inc. – purveyors of fine technical prose – over 30 years ago. Gretchen has worked on all sorts of projects, from starting from scratch for startups to making over libraries of publications for national clients. She started out as a programmer (B.S. in Computer Science) but loved writing the specs and instructions more. She runs her company as she runs her life: adjusting and scaling as needs change, attempting to keep all in balance. She also literally runs, the longer the better.

Joy Underhill’s Biography:

Joy Underhill is the owner of Words by Joy (, a business writing firm that has offered technical writing services for three decades. In that time, Joy’s skills have expanded to include training development, article writing, website copy, and photography. Her latest venture, Stories by Joy (, combines poetry and photography to capture customized stories about loved ones for special events. Joy is the author of Happy Tails, a humorous dog training book, and Five Steps to MadCap Flare with Lorraine Kupka. Her photographs appear in juried shows, local libraries, and regular travelogue presentations.
