Technical Trainer (full time) – Frontier

DESCRIPTION

Master Complex IP and Data technology fundamentals. Act as training expert on Product Development Teams supporting complex data products. Develop detailed training documentation and/or procedures to support IP and data related products. Deliver effective and technical training classes to support installation and maintenance of new and existing products and services.  Develop and deliver additional training for audiences as required.

Responsibilities:

Delivery of technical training courses to internal students

Develop course documentation and hands-on lab activities to be used in classes

Become a Subject Matter Expert prior to class delivery by:

  • Researching technology, equipment, and systems supporting new products and services.
  • Developing and exercising cross functional relationships with Marketing, Engineering, and Operations

Contribute to new product development and improve operational efficiencies through:

  • Developing Installation/Maintenance process and procedure
  • Documenting and analyzing internal processes and procedures
  • Effective communication of new and existing process and procedure to students

5%
Coordinate, schedule, and appropriately log all training related activities

Contribute to E-learning development projects

Note: Actual percentage allocated to above tasks could vary based upon business requirements.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required experience:

5 years experience working in a telecommunications operations environment.  Previous experience working on data product development teams within the telecommunications sector.

Strong proficiency in 802.11 wireless technologies deployed in home WiFi, Hotspot, and Municipal Wireless networks.

Experience installing and troubleshooting

Metro Ethernet, LAN & WANs
DSL and network related issues.
ATM and Frame Relay
SONET
HDSL and T1 transport technologies.

Special Skills Required:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to professionally present training material to general and/or executive audiences.
  • Computer literate, excellent writing and technical document design abilities, including a strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Visio and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong customer orientation with a focus on results.
  • Previous experience utilizing eLearning creation applications, like Adobe Captivate or Lectora is desired.

Education, certification and/or license requirements:

AAS degree or equivalent, a strong data-networking competency is a must
CCNA certification or equivalent is desired

Physical Requirements:

Candidate may be required to stand for up to 7 hours/day during classes that could be 5 days in length.
Candidate should also be capable of:

  • Lifting and moving projection equipment and training supplies up to 50 lbs
  • Working in extreme heat/cold
  • Working at heights over 15 feet
  • Working 3rd shift, weekends/on-call

Travel:

This position requires travel within the US (Typically 25% of time, at times as high as 40%).  An active driver’s license is required for travel.
