Technical Training Developer and Trainer, Alstom, Rochester NY

Responsible for preparing, conducting, and evaluating technical training programs. 

Job Responsibilities 

• Create and edit training materials and manuals as directed. Collaborate with technical writers. Interact with other departments to identify and collect specific data to be used in the creation of training and technical documents. Utilize departmental processes to complete various types of assignments. 

• Perform and validate technical/maintenance procedures. Edit and/or create technical illustrations. 

• Manage assignments and documentation submittals according to defined quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) requirements. 

• Work autonomously within tight deadlines to meet customer/project specific requirements while making independent decisions concerning work products. 

• Interact with the customer as required while representing the company. Conduct training (customer training, classroom training, internal training) for transit and railroad projects per specification. 

• Follow ISO processes as required and maintain safety regulations. 

• Travel up to 40% of the time. 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or engineering is preferred and/or 5-7 years experience in techanical training. 

• Certification or equivalent experience in developing and delivering instructional material is preferred 

• Minimum 1 year of experience in developing and delivering instructional material 

• Training delivery experience 
• Technical writing experience 

• Experience in transit industry or electromechanical and/or microprocessor based systems 

• Experience with e-learning authoring tools and graphics, and multimedia applications 

• Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, and Adobe Acrobat, FrameMaker, and Illustrator 

• Ability to work autonomously and deliver to tight deadlines 

• Ability to make independent decisions
