Technical Writer, CAM Hypertherm – Lockport, NY

As a Technical Writer, you will design, write, publish and maintain high-quality, translation-friendly, customer-focused technical content, including technical manuals, technical illustrations, online help, service bulletins and other materials as needed to support Hypertherm’s CAD/CAM line of software products.

  • Experience writing technical documentation for software
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Engineering, or similar technical/communications discipline
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Experience with single-source publishing and help authoring tools, such as MadCap Flare or Adobe RoboHelp
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to understand complex technical information and consolidate it into clear, concise, well-written end-user documentation while adhering to an internal style guide

Experience in these additional areas are a big plus: 

  • SCRUM software development
  • Familiarity with Simplified Technical English (STE)
  • Basic knowledge of XML
  • Experience creating instructional video content
