Technical Writer, Orolia, Rochester, NY

Position Summary:
 Working under the guidance of the Documentation Engineer, the Technical Writer will create and maintain technical user documentation, support software release cycles and write technical bulletins in co-operation with our R&D engineers, application engineers and the technical support team. 


  • Create and maintain technical documentation to include user manuals, Quick Start Guides, installation and update instructions, applications notes, etc.
  • Develop content architecture and infrastructure needed to assemble technical documents.
  • Utilize technical documentation tools and processes, manages technical publication releases and change control in the PLM system.
  • Responsible for cultivating and applying documentation templates and style guides aligned with company branding guidelines and the UX industry best practices.
  • Promote technical knowledge by developing technical articles.

Education / Experience Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in Technical Communication, English or Engineering
  • 1-5 years relevant experience

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Requirements 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Products
  • Working knowledge of MadCap Flare
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
