Your Mission: 
As a Medidata Technical Communicator, you will join a lively team of communicators within Technology (R&D) Operations division and take ownership of one or more products within the Medidata Clinical Cloud. You will work within Agile product teams to research, plan, write and update user documentation in the form of web help, user guides and knowledge base articles. You will also consult your product team on knowledge management practices and brand standards.

Medidata is looking for technical communicators who can deliver clear, concise and effective communication; who proactively use logic, judgment, and data to evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions; work cooperatively with others to achieve group goals and objectives; and are able to prioritize work and manage several tasks/projects at once.

Your Commitments:
•Becomes familiar with the subject matter and keeps abreast of changes
• Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits online help, knowledge articles, and other technical documentation 
• Conducts interviews with subject matter experts and other technical staff to gather data for documentation 
• Researches and translates technical information into wiki articles for non-technical and technical users
• Translates complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and accurate content under tight deadlines
• Understands user workflows and organizes content appropriately
• Produces content deliverables that conform to the company documentation and quality assurance standards
• Works with product owners, developers, testers, and other key players to produce documentation deliverables
• Participates in 2 or more projects and meets all target deadlines
• Analyzes content usage and feedback reports and recommends areas of improvement
• Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
• Build productive internal/external working relationships

Your Competencies: 
• 2+ years of technical writing experience documenting software or online systems required or an advanced degree preferred
• 4-year degree in Technical Communication, English, Education, or Engineering/Scientific discipline required
• Delivers clear, effective communication. 
• Proven ability to gather documentation needs and product enhancements in an agile manner and produce content based on scenarios and use cases
• Proven ability to quickly grasp new subject matter and maintain proficiency in an on-going fashion
• Experience translating complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand, concise, and accurate user documentation required
• Experience building and maintaining knowledge in Knowledge Bases and authoring in Confluence strongly preferred
• Knowledge of Clinical Trial processes (data collection, management, and analysis) a plus
• Basic programming skills preferred
• Experience working in Mobile documentation development preferred
• Knowledge of Statistical Analysis and Reporting tools preferred
• Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet pre-established deadlines required
• Experience working in an Agile environment preferred
• Basic experience with standard documentation tools required
