Temporary Script Writer/Library Coordinator – University of Buffalo

The Script Writer/Library Coordinator will assist in the development of an interdisciplinary catalogue of patient-family-provider simulations that focus on the process of Advance Care Planning for use in social work, nursing and medical education. The purpose of the catalogue is for use in educating social work, nursing and medical students about how to initiate and conduct conversations about end-of-life wishes. The Coordinator will work with an interdisciplinary team in identifying diverse types of case scenarios and developing the roles (e.g. history, background, thoughts and actions) for actors who will portray the parts in a filmed case simulation. The Coordinator will oversee the selection, training and filming of case simulations. The Coordinator will create an electronic catalogue of case simulations and scenarios for student practice sessions. The project will run from February through June 2015.

Minimum Qualifications:
– Master’s degree in English or Library Science.
– Technical experience with electronic and visual media.
– Writing experience in a university environment.
– Experience with interdisciplinary education; specifically social work, nursing and/or medicine.
– Interview experience.
– Knowledge of and proficiency using university library databases and internet resources for research.
