Multiple contract openings at Xerox – Customer Doc. Analyst and Service Doc. Analyst – through Segula Technologies

The initial term is through the end of 2011, but quite likely to be extended well into 2012.

$30 an hour w-2

There are up to 5 openings.

 

CUSTOMER DOC.  ANALYST

Required Skills:

• Ability to write in a clear and concise manner, with correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.

• Capable of picking up a new authoring process and software quickly.

• Experienced writing for an end-user environment and, potentially, for translatability.

• Interfacing directly with Engineering and Field SMEs

• Ability to work to a planned schedule.

Deliverables:

• Update existing customer documentation content which is authored in DITA, with changes and new feature information.

• Work with engineers to document new feature content and to test/validate the content for all of the applicable products.

• Update existing content and/or create new deliverables in FrameMaker or Word as required by the program.

Optional but an added bonus:

• Experienced in the use of FrameMaker, particularly authoring in a structured environment.

• Experience with writing for on-line help.

• Experience authoring in Word.

• Experience working with the Xerox branded template in both Word and FrameMaker.

• Experience in DITA authoring would be a plus but is not necessary.

SERVICE DOC.  ANALYST

Required:

• Ability to write in a clear and concise manner, with correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.

• Experience and/or comfort with electrical and mechanical devices.

• Comfortable reading schematics.

• Comfortable using tools to remove and replace parts.

• Interfacing directly with Engineering and Field SMEs

• Work to a planned schedule

 

Deliverables:

• Update any existing service manual database (all sections) with input from engineering and the field.

• Work with the CDLS art department and parts list group as needed to update art and parts lists.

• Modify the BSDs and wirenet art in the service manual.

• Assist the EDOC support group in prepping and delivering BUS updates and EDOC CDs for the field.

Optional but an added bonus:

• Experienced in the use of FrameMaker; experience with FM ver. 7.2 and the CDLS Service EDOC formats is ideal.

• Experience with any Xerox or comparable products on a service level.

• Experience diagnosing problems with hardware and establishing troubleshooting procedures for those problems.

• Experience reading and modifying BSDs and wirenets.
