Writer (Financial Services) – Manning & Napier, Rochester NY

Summary:

This is a position in the Marketing Department that is responsible for writing research-oriented communication material that supports Manning & Napier’s economic outlook, investment process, current portfolio themes and periodic results. This position will report to the Managing Director of Marketing and will work closely with the Marketing Department, Research Department, Portfolio Strategists, Product Managers and Legal/Compliance personnel.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

§  Maintain a working knowledge of the firm’s current outlook, investment themes, results/attribution and key positioning points by attending a variety of Research and Marketing meetings. This includes meetings with SRG, POG (to better understand attribution and absolute/relative return drivers) and other Research groups in an effort to maintain strong relationships with the various analysts.

§  Using this research, create new written material and update existing material to reflect key positioning points and a clear marketing message.

§  Update periodic positioning and attribution commentary relating to a variety of fund and separate account products.

§  Provide economic overview commentary and other written material on general research topics for use by sales reps for prospecting purposes.

§  Read periodicals to identify and compile key talking points for sales representatives and other field staff.

§  Assist in developing content for the firm’s various newsletters, website, client seminars and marketing calls/meetings.

§  Work with Marketing Associates to gather back-up and assist in the compliance review process to ensure that all prospecting and sales material is approved before being disseminated.

§  Attend weekly meetings with the Marketing Communications Group to communicate status on new pieces and to gauge interest in new thought pieces.

§  Work with sales representatives and other field personnel to understand and identify field needs for written commentary/white papers.

 

Qualifications:

* Bachelors or masters degree with experience writing content for

business/marketing applications.

* Financial services experience preferred.

* Demonstration of strong written and oral communication skills.

* Innovative, creative and detail-oriented.
