Create high-quality technical documentation to accurately and completely capture Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for our manufacturing lines.
Responsibilities
- Collect data by interviewing and observing SMEs, and researching vendor documentation.
- Utilize documentation standards and templates to ensure documentation is complete, accessible, easy to understand, and user-friendly.
- Capture clear and informative media (images and video) of process steps being performed for use in documentation and training.
- Create graphical images, flow charts, and diagrams, for inclusion in documentation.
- Perform minor edits to photo and video footage.
- Perform verification of documentation accuracy and completeness.
- Produce quality work demonstrating effective use of grammar, spelling, style, and document guidelines.
- Review and gather feedback from stakeholders to create highly usable, robust information to support users.
- Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and reviewers.
- Ensure document versioning is accurate.
- Provide input for improvements to documentation standards.
- Work on multiple projects, often under tight deadlines.
- Work on a flexible schedule to accommodate multiple shifts.
Required Skills / Knowledge / Experience
- BA (or related experience) with a focus on communication, technical writing, instructional design, or a related field of study.
- Must have excellent written/verbal communication, listening, organizational, interpersonal, research, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear, concise manner, and willingness to pursue emerging technologies as needed for the organization.
- Proficiency working with Microsoft Word, (Proficiency working with iBooks author a plus).
- Proficiency in organizing technical information to make it transferable and to a prescribed audience.
- Experience working to deadlines and project goals.
- Quick with learning and understanding new technical concepts.
- Effective written (English language) and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience developing documentation.
- Ability to be part of a team and contribute to a team goal.
- Experience with mixed media, such as video.
- Experience and working in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
