Spectrum 2021 is right around the corner …
Spectrum 2021 is almost here! There’s still time to register for this year’s all-virtual conference, and we hope to see you there! The conference includes a day of workshops on Saturday, April 17, a leadership program on Sunday, April 18, and the main conference event on Monday, April 19. You can attend one or all of these events.
If expense is an issue, the pricing is flexible. The Saturday workshops are priced separately. The Sunday leadership program is free. For the main conference event on Monday, we’re offering a free registration for a member or leader of each active STC community. If you haven’t heard about this yet from your STC community, email us at spectrum-at-stc-rochester.org.
If you’re not an STC member, you are also welcome and encouraged to attend Spectrum 2021! Go to our chapter website (http://stc-rocester.org) and click the Spectrum Conference link for all of the conference details.

As an active part of technical communication in upstate New York for more than 60 years, STC Rochester thrives through its members. You can be a member, too, no matter where you live. Although most of our chapter members are in upstate New York, we have a small and growing number of members and leaders from other areas, including Utah, Florida, and California. Even if you’re a member of another STC chapter, consider investing another $25.00 to sign up with us and get all of the benefits of being part of our friendly, active, and award-winning community. If you’re already an STC member, you can add Rochester to your member profile by contacting membership-at-stc.org. The STC office will work with you to receive your payment and add you to our chapter database.
If you haven’t renewed your STC membership, you still can!
If you’re a member of STC Rochester and haven’t renewed your membership for 2021, you still can! Go to http://stc.org/membership, click the Renew Your STC Membership Today link, log in with your STC member ID and password, and complete the renewal form. Be sure to select Rochester as your community, because the renewal process does not carry over community information from the previous year. Once you’ve submitted the renewal form with your payment, your STC membership will be reactivated, and within about 48 hours you’ll once again have access to all membership benefits. Take a new moments to renew today!
An invitation to volunteer
Volunteers keep the engine of our community running. If you haven’t volunteered before, consider being part of our chapter leadership team! We have many opportunities for long-term and short-term activities, and our friendly leaders will provide the training you need. Volunteering is an ideal way to build your network, along with gaining new technical and leadership skills. We’re preparing to elect and appoint a new leadership team for the coming program year, and you can be part of it!
