Who will speak to us
Ben Woelk will be speaking on “I Shouldn’t Be Here: Experienced Professionals and Imposter Syndrome.” He will also give us an update on the Society for 2019/2020.
Have you ever felt like you didn’t belong in a group of your peers? That you don’t belong in your job and aren’t the expert others think you are? Then you belong in this presentation! Join us as we discuss impostor syndrome—the feeling of self doubt despite your own successes. You’ll learn to identify impostor syndrome, why it afflicts experienced professionals, and strategies to combat it.
Who will serenade us
Jim Drew
Singer, Songwriter, Producer
Jammin Bread Records
Jim will cover ballads and songs from a variety of genres that mention cows, cowboys, cowgirls, or ranges…from Bon Jovi to Gene Autry!
Jim has performed thousands of concerts, mainly in the US, but also in Canada, and Europe (Spain, England, and Germany).
His musical journey started when he was four and got his first guitar. He began playing in venues as a young teen. In college, Jim studied classical music and took formal voice training and then orchestration. (He was thinking at one point of going on for his masters in conducting) but he also had a passion for being a songwriter, which he pursued.
The classical training Jim received increased his knowledge and abilities both in the studio and on the stage. He is now a recording artist, studio musician, arranger, producer, audio engineer, and studio owner who has gleaned respect for his musical arrangements in Nashville, NYC, LA, and beyond.
For our Fall kickoff, Jim will bring soulful acoustic music with a western theme!
