A Technical Content Developer is responsible for writing and documenting testing, assembly and procedural processes performed in the Manufacturing areas of QVI including, but not limited to: Electronics Manufacturing, Optics Manufacturing, Machine Assembly and any other areas where this documentation may be deemed necessary.
Position Responsibilities:
- Produce high quality, easy to understand, technical documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for the intended audience. This includes writing, illustrating, proofreading, editing, preparation for printing, and generating electronic output.
- Analyze existing documentation, identifying opportunities to improve and revise as necessary.
- Work with other QVI departments to gather information and obtain an in-depth understanding of the product specifications and documentation requirements. Ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of technical documentation produced.
- Identify and eliminate sources of waste within your area and sphere of influence. Suggest new improved processes, work flows, test protocols, etc. to management to improve efficiency and quality and help meet department lean manufacturing objectives.
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn new technology and surpass current standards.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Video production and editing skills and experience a plus.
Educational Requirements:
- 2-4-year degree in Technical Writing or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
