What to expect at Spectrum 2020

On Saturday, September 19, workshop registrants will log in to a Zoom meeting in the morning and another in the afternoon, and the workshop leader will explain the logistics. Registrants will have the links to log in ahead of Saturday, September 19. Registration opens soon for the November 14 workshop.

On Sunday, September 20, Leadership Day registrants will log in to a Zoom meeting that starts at 1:00 pm. The Spectrum manager will briefly review logistics, and the facilitators will let everyone know how the discussions will proceed. Registrants will receive the link to log in ahead of Sunday, September 20.

Registrants will receive a navigation guide with the links to log in to the Common Room and session rooms ahead of the main conference day, Monday, September 21. On that day, this is what to expect:

  • There will be three virtual presentation rooms on the main conference day. A Common Room will be open all day.
  • Most of the sessions will be offered in an interactive discussion format.
    • The presentations for these sessions have been uploaded to a Google drive.
    • Registrants have the link to view the presentations; when you register, you will receive the link right away.
  • Review the Schedule to decide which sessions you want to attend.
  • For the discussion sessions you plan to attend, view the pre-recorded presentations before the main conference day, September 21 and have your questions ready to ask the speaker.
  • Some presentations will be given live on September 21.
  • All of the sessions and special events will be recorded and added to the folder on the Google drive.
    • The video of people attending will not be included in the recordings.
    • Questions you pose in the chat or via audio will be recorded.
    • If you do not want to be recorded, you may contact the speaker with your questions, using the contact information in the presentation.
  • During Spectrum you can look in the navigation guide or on the Schedule page to see which presentations are in each room.
  • The recordings of the discussion sessions, the presentations made live on September 21, and special events will be available on the Google drive for registrants for one year after Spectrum 2020.
